MUSCAT — Authorities in Oman have reminded citizens and residents that they will enjoy a four-day holiday period from Thursday, Jan. 15, to Sunday, Jan. 18, as official public holidays coincide with the weekend.
The extended break begins with Accession Day holiday on Thursday, January 15.
Friday and Saturday form the regular weekend in Oman, followed by Al Isra’a Wal Miraj on Sunday, January 18, a major Islamic occasion commemorating the Night Journey and Ascension of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Work will resume on Monday, January 19.
Authorities urged public and private sector institutions, as well as residents, to take note of the continuous holiday period and plan work schedules, travel and personal commitments accordingly.
