Muscat: According to the advisory issued on January 6, 2026, based on the latest weather maps and numerical forecasts, Oman is expected to experience scattered rainfall of varying intensity on Wednesday and Thursday, January 7 and 8. The rainfall is forecast to affect coastal governorates along the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea, with showers also extending inland to parts of the North Sharqiyah and Al Dakhiliyah governorates.
The CAA cautioned that the expected weather conditions could lead to flash flooding in vulnerable areas, urging residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying zones and wadis. Authorities advised the public to follow official updates and safety instructions as weather conditions evolve.
