Muscat: During the past Thursday, Friday and Saturday, gates and corridors leading to Muscat Nights venues saw a heavy influx of visitors from different nationalities and age groups, who flocked to enjoy a wide range of cultural, entertainment and sporting activities spread across the Muscat Governorate.

Running until January 31, Muscat Nights 2026 offers daily programmes that blend culture, sports, entertainment and folk arts. Events are hosted at Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, the Oman Automobile Association, Seeb Beach (Sur Al Hadid), Quriyat State Park, Wadi Al Khoudh, and several shopping malls, allowing visitors from various governorates to experience the festivities closer to home.

One of the most striking visual highlights has been the lighting festival, led by the character “Siraj”, presented as an Omani child of light roaming the skies of the city. The character has emerged as a symbolic visual identity for Muscat Nights, adding a strong narrative and artistic dimension to the event.

To facilitate smooth access, Muscat Municipality introduced a free shuttle bus service operating from Al Araimi Complex parking in Qurum and Al Fath Square parking directly to Qurum Natural Park and back. The initiative has helped ease traffic flow, reduce congestion and minimise waiting times for visitors.

Qurum Natural Park has continued to attract large crowds, particularly for its water fountain shows, which combine artistic water movements with music and smart lighting. Using advanced global technologies, the shows create dazzling night scenes that offer visitors an integrated and immersive visual experience.

Nighttime drone shows have also been met with wide admiration, as hundreds of synchronised drones formed moving light displays inspired by Muscat’s cultural identity, adding a magical touch to the evening skies and delighting audiences of all ages.

A major draw has been the Muscat Nights International Circus at the Oman Automobile Association, where daily shows feature acrobatics, aerial performances, balancing acts and sleight of hand, alongside innovative hologram technologies that create three-dimensional visual scenes and enhance audience interaction.

Children and families have actively participated in dedicated kids’ zones offering interactive educational experiences, including simplified presentations on astronomy and space, as well as creative corners for drawing, colouring and crafts, blending learning with entertainment in a child-friendly environment.

The Heritage Village events at Al Amerat Public Park and Qurum Natural Park have been warmly received, showcasing traditional Omani life through live craft demonstrations, folk arts, local cuisine and heritage architecture. Presented in a contemporary format, the village reinforces national identity while offering visitors an authentic cultural experience.

Family-oriented attractions such as Masha and the Bear Adventures have witnessed strong engagement, allowing children and families to step into an interactive live environment inspired by the popular story, promoting values of friendship, cooperation and curiosity.

Cultural, artistic and musical evenings have added further depth to the programme, featuring local and international artists, folk poetry sessions, comedy performances, children’s theatre productions and literary showcases, enriching the intellectual and creative landscape of Muscat Nights.

Youth-focused activities at the Oman Automobile Association and Wadi Al Khoudh have introduced high-energy programmes centred on movement, challenge and excitement, while Seeb Beach in Sur Al Hadid has emerged as a vibrant hub for football and beach volleyball championships, kite flying, paragliding shows, folk performances, concerts, children’s areas and dining spaces.

Each evening concludes with daily fireworks displays that illuminate the skies of Muscat with coordinated and large-scale visual shows, transforming the nights into festive celebrations.

Notably, Muscat Nights 2026 has also seen increased participation by citizens seeking employment in event organisation and operations, alongside expanded opportunities for small and medium enterprises.
