Muscat: The Ministry confirmed that work on the bridge project is currently 8 per cent complete, marking an important milestone in efforts to upgrade the Sultanate’s national road network. The project has been awarded to Al Rimal Comprehensive Technical Services Company, in partnership with Pagan Saint Mapana Company, and will be implemented over an 18-month timeframe, in line with the approved schedule.
The new bridges are being constructed along the Sohar–Al Buraimi road, one of Oman’s most important highways, linking the border crossings of Al Buraimi Governorate with other parts of the Sultanate. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly enhance road safety, improve traffic flow, and ease congestion along the busy corridor.
Officials noted that the upgraded crossings will also support trade and economic activity, given the road’s strategic role in connecting border points with key industrial and commercial hubs.
