MUSCAT : During the session, Minister Al Yousef explained how the CEPA serves as a cornerstone in Oman’s broader vision to enhance international cooperation, diversify its economy, and attract foreign investment. The briefing also provided clarity on key provisions of the agreement, which aims to ease trade barriers, promote technology transfer, and strengthen Oman’s global competitiveness.

The minister emphasized that the CEPA grants Oman a temporary comparative advantage ahead of other Gulf nations, particularly in terms of export facilitation and access to the vast Indian market. He further underscored how this agreement aligns with Oman Vision 2040 by supporting sustainable economic growth through collaborative international partnerships.

Transit and Logistics Partnerships: Strategic investments in Oman’s ports, airports, and logistics networks are enhancing the Sultanate’s role as a vital trade corridor connecting regional and global markets.

Trade Agreements: Oman continues to benefit from bilateral and multilateral agreements that expand market access, reduce tariffs, and attract investment—reinforcing its position as a competitive regional trade hub.

Strategic Partnerships: Ongoing cooperation with international partners is promoting innovation, technology exchange, and economic diversification, critical to achieving long-term national objectives.
