MUSCAT: Residents returning to Oman holding valid visas do not require prior approval to enter the country from October 1, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed on Thursday.
In a fresh guideline issued, CAA said: “Only Omani citizens and residents with valid residences are allowed to enter the Sultanate without the need of prior approval.”
However, they must pay OMR 25 for the mandatory PCR Covid-19 test that will be done at the airport. Children at the age of 15 or below and cabin crew are exempted from the test, CAA said. “All arrivals to Oman are subject to Covid-19 PCR test and pay the cost of OMR 25,” the guideline said.

CAA also said foreigners coming to Oman must also ensure their accommodation during the 14-day quarantine period. “Aircraft crew are exempted from the 14 days quarantine and subject to the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Health,” CAA said.
“All visitors are required to have health insurance that covers the costs of treatment with Covid -19 for a period of one month,” CAA said.
Early this week, the Supreme Committee allowed stranded residents holding valid visas to return to the country starting from October 1.
