MUSCAT : With less than three weeks to go before the launch of Muscat Nights 2026, Muscat Municipality has accelerated preparations for the month-long festival, floating tenders and awarding contracts covering entertainment, marketing and specialised events across several venues in the capital.
The festival will run from January 1 to January 31, 2026, and is expected to feature a wide range of cultural, artistic and recreational activities, including concerts, recitals and theatrical performances by artists and groups from Oman, the Gulf and the wider Arab region, alongside shows aimed at popular artistic communities.
Municipality disclosures show that contracts have already been awarded for the organisation and operation of beach activities at Sur Al Hadid, marketing and promotional campaigns for Muscat Nights, and the staging of an e-gaming event at Al Amerat Park, reflecting the festival’s expanding focus on both traditional culture and contemporary entertainment.

Several major public spaces across Muscat will host festival activities, including Al Qurum Natural Park, one of the largest venues in the Sultanate. Spanning around 1.7 million square metres, the park is known for its winding walkways, fountains, open-air theatre and family-friendly play areas, making it a key attraction during large-scale events.
Muscat Nights has become a central pillar of the capital’s winter calendar, aimed at boosting domestic tourism, supporting local businesses and enhancing Muscat’s appeal as a regional leisure destination. The preparations come as Muscat continues to gain international attention, with recent travel industry reports identifying the capital as one of the trending destinations among travellers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa planning holidays in 2026.
Municipal officials say the intensified preparations are intended to ensure a smooth, vibrant and well-organised festival experience for residents and visitors alike, as Muscat Nights returns with an expanded programme and multiple event zones across the city.
