MUSCAT – The Pakistan Social Club Oman formally relaunched its activities on Thursday with the oath-taking ceremony of its Interim Committee, held at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Muscat, bringing together diplomats, Omani officials and members of the Pakistani community from across the Sultanate.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Naat (SAW), followed by the national anthems of the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, as chief guest, and Sheikh Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, Sheikh of the Pakistani and Pakistan–Oman community in Oman and Founder and Chairman of SFG, as guest of honour. Also present were officials from Oman’s Ministry of Social Development, representatives of the Pakistan Embassy and senior community members.

In his welcome address, General Secretary Kashif Ahmed Zaeem outlined the structure and mandate of the Interim Committee, reaffirming the club’s commitment to unity, transparency and community welfare. The oath of office was administered by Ambassador Bokhari to the newly appointed board members for the 2025 interim term.
The Interim Committee is headed by Chairman Mohammad Nadeem Azeemi, with Chaudhary Zahid Shakoor as Vice Chairman, Kashif Ahmed Zaeem as General Secretary and Imran Toor as Finance Secretary, alongside directors overseeing sports, media, culture, literature, welfare, minorities, membership and logistics.
Addressing the gathering, Finance Secretary Imran Toor presented initial views on the proposed budget, while Sheikh Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah congratulated the new board and expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq for his leadership and support for community engagement. British-based businessman Shehzada Shehryar also extended his congratulations to the committee.
In his remarks, Ambassador Bokhari urged the new leadership to uphold integrity, unity and transparency, and to work in the best interests of the community while strictly adhering to the laws and regulations of the Sultanate. He expressed appreciation to the Omani authorities, particularly the Ministry of Social Development, for facilitating the establishment of social clubs that promote cultural exchange and strengthen bilateral relations.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to mark the revival of the Pakistan Social Club Oman. In his vote of thanks, Chairman Azeemi announced that fresh elections would be held by December 2026 and thanked the embassy, community elders and supporters for their role in reactivating the club.
The event was hosted by Azra Aleem and Syed Shandaar Ali Shah Bukhari, with a presentation prepared by Taimur Kaleem and banner graphics designed by Shumaila Aleem.
