MUSCAT : The new route has been launched by Oman Airports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and in coordination with China Eastern Airlines.

The new direct route between Muscat International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport will operate two weekly flights, on Sundays and Wednesdays, using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 299 passengers. Officials said the service is expected to strengthen tourism flows, facilitate trade and investment, and enhance overall air connectivity between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, described the launch as more than just a new air link, calling it “a bridge of friendship and cooperation connecting two ancient civilizations with deep historical roots and a shared vision for a bright future.” He added that the route opens broad opportunities for cultural, tourism, and economic exchange between Oman and China, expressing appreciation to China Eastern Airlines and Beijing Daxing International Airport for their cooperation in achieving this milestone.

“Visiting the Sultanate of Oman is a rich and ever-renewing experience, and we are delighted to share it with passengers on flight MU2051 and with everyone planning to visit the Sultanate soon,” he said, highlighting Oman’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, adventure offerings, and signature hospitality.

Oman Airports CEO Ahmed bin Saeed Al Amri noted that the direct connection represents a strategic expansion of Oman’s international network. He said the route will support tourism and investment sectors while reinforcing Oman’s position as a key regional hub for aviation and logistics.
