Oman reaffirms global peace role at Chemical Weapons Convention in The Hague

Oman today took part in the opening of the 30th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), held in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

THE HAGUE : The high-level gathering, which runs until November 28, 2025, brings together member states and international organisations committed to a safer, chemical-weapons-free world.

Oman’s delegation to the conference is headed by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Harthy, Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

The Sultanate’s participation underscores its steadfast commitment to strengthening global peace and security through the full and effective implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. Officials highlighted that Oman continues to support international initiatives that enhance transparency, disarmament, and the prevention of chemical threats worldwide.

The conference also provides a platform for Oman to deepen cooperation with the OPCW and its member states.
