Muscat: Abraj Energy Services, Oman’s leading energy services provider, has achieved a landmark national recognition, becoming the first company in the Sultanate to receive the National Local Content Certificate. This pivotal milestone was announced during the launch ceremony of the “Imdaad” National Program, organized by the Public Authority for Projects, Tenders, and Local Content.

The certification officially validates Abraj’s measurable and strategic contribution to the national economy. It cements Abraj’s position as a national partner actively enabling In-Country Value (ICV) priorities and accelerating the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Abraj’s achievement underscores its deep commitment to national economic enablement by prioritizing Omani talent and expanding local supply chains. According to the company’s 2024 Local Content Audit Report, Abraj injected OMR 52 million into the local economy through expenditure on goods and services.

Key metrics highlighting Abraj’s direct ICV impact include:

  • OMR 12.85 million (25%) in contracts awarded to SMEs registered under Riyada.
  • OMR 8.7 million (17%) spent on locally manufactured products.
  • A robust 93% Omanization rate across its total workforce.

According to Abraj’s 2024 ICV Report, the company contributed OMR 52 million to the local economy through its spending on goods and services, with 25% of this value awarded to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) registered with Riyaada and LCC. Expenditure on products made in Oman also reached OMR 8.7 million, reflecting Abraj’s continued commitment to supporting national industries and strengthening domestic supply chains.

Abraj maintained an Omanization rate of 93% across its workforce in 2024, underscoring its strong focus on national talent development. More than 5,700 employees benefited from training and development initiatives during the year, while 114 internship opportunities were offered to Omani graduates under the Furssa, Ruwad, and Eidaad programs — all aimed at empowering a new generation of Omani leaders equipped to lead and shape the future of the nation’s energy sector.

On this occasion, Eng. Saif bin Hamad Al Hamhami, Chief Executive Officer of Abraj Energy Services, stated:

“This recognition is a source of immense national pride and a powerful testament to our role in enabling Oman’s economic future. Achieving the Sultanate’s first Local Content Certificate is not merely an honor; it is a clear validation of our deliberate strategy to invest in the diversification and resilience of the Omani economy. We are committed to continuing to nurture Omani talent and local enterprises, thereby fostering the innovation and knowledge transfer necessary to advance the goals of Oman Vision 2040.”

Abraj’s investment in people is integral to its ICV strategy. The company reports that over 5,700 employees benefited from training and development programs in 2024. Furthermore, Abraj provided 114 training opportunities to young Omanis through national programs such as Furasa, Ruwad, and I’dad.

These focused efforts underscore the company’s commitment to developing a capable national workforce that is well-equipped to lead the future of Oman’s energy services sector.

The Local Content Certificate is administered by the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and the Public Authority for Projects, Tenders, and Local Content. This standardized assessment ensures transparent alignment with national economic priorities.

Earlier this year, Abraj Energy Services received the “Majd” Award for Best ICV Program in the SME Development category, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The recognition highlights Abraj’s strong commitment to promoting local content and empowering small and medium enterprises as vital contributors to Oman’s energy industry.
