MUSCAT : The market was filled with a wide variety of fresh produce, including lemons, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, lettuce, radishes, coriander, parsley, and mint. Seasonal grains such as corn, wheat, spelt, chickpeas, and cowpeas were also prominently displayed, alongside garlic, onions, quince, and locally harvested fodder.

Adding to the vibrancy was the debut of the market’s new look following comprehensive development works. These upgrades included reorganized sales spaces, enhanced facilities, designated walkways to ease movement, and modern canopies for product display, all designed to improve the overall shopping and selling experience.

The development project also introduced a dedicated livestock auction area while expanding entrances, exits, and parking zones. Modern service amenities were added throughout the marketplace, ensuring smoother operations and better accessibility for visitors.

Farmers expressed optimism about the season, noting that improved climatic conditions have boosted the quantity and quality of produce, contributing to stable prices as crops begin entering local markets.
