MUSCAT : Based on astronomical calculations and moon-sighting criteria, Oman will observe the beginning of Jumada al-Thani on Saturday, November 22.
The committee confirmed that the transition into the new month follows precise astronomical data indicating that the moon set on Thursday, the 29th of Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH, before sunset across all governorates of Oman. With the moon setting prior to the sun, visibility was astronomically impossible on that evening.
As a result, Friday, November 21, completes the 30 days of Jumada al-Ula, in line with Islamic lunar calendar protocols.
