Ministry launches project to enhance value of Omani honeybee products

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has announced a new initiative to support beekeepers in enhancing the value of Omani honeybee products, including pollen, propolis, royal jelly, and beeswax.

MUSCAT – The Ministry, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund, is inviting beekeepers interested in participating in the project to apply online by completing the form at https://t.co/QG5BeDyYYe by December 11, 2025.

Eligibility and Requirements:


• Applicants must be Omani citizens.
• Applications must include a copy of a valid national ID and a valid apiary licence.
• Applicants must own a licensed commercial apiary with more than 150 beehives and demonstrate practical experience in beekeeping and honey production.
• Priority will be given to job seekers and those fully committed to beekeeping.
• Beneficiaries must meet minimum production targets: 600 kg of pollen annually, 2 kg of royal jelly, 1,000 virgin queens, 2 kg of propolis, and 50 kg of beeswax.
• Beneficiaries must adhere to the contract signed with the project management and cannot transfer it to any other party without approval.
• Registration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) is required.
• Project-supplied equipment will remain the property of the beneficiary after the two-year period, provided they continue production for an additional three years using the same methods.
• Ministry specialists will conduct inspections and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with the project conditions.

The Ministry stated that it reserves the right to accept or reject applications that do not meet the stated requirements and that beneficiaries will be selected based on application date and eligibility.
Approved beneficiaries will have 30 days to prepare their apiary before receiving project supplies, which include a pollen trap, propolis trap, royal jelly collection machine, foundation wax printing machine, solar wax melter, and associated equipment.
