MUSCAT – The campaign, which ran from October 8 to November 10, 2025, was part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure compliance within the rapidly expanding digital marketplace.
The initiative aimed to enhance supervision of electronic commercial activities, verify adherence to laws and regulations governing digital trade, and safeguard consumer rights while promoting a fair and secure online business environment.
During the campaign, inspection teams covered various commercial sectors registered within regional directorates and administrative divisions, focusing on key compliance elements such as availability of a valid commercial registration number or business license, clarity and transparency of exchange and return policies, security of payment methods and protection of consumer data, adherence to declared delivery timelines and availability of after-sales services.

The Authority stated that the campaign’s outcomes reflect its commitment to reinforcing confidence in Oman’s digital commerce ecosystem and strengthening compliance with consumer protection laws.
It added that the initiative supported the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to advance digital transformation, ensure transparency in electronic transactions, and foster the use of modern technologies to enhance the national business landscape.
The Authority also urged business owners and operators of electronic commercial accounts to comply with applicable laws and regulations to avoid violations or legal actions.
