MUSCAT – The Ministry stated that pilgrims are required to visit designated health institutions in their respective governorates to receive the following vaccines:
Meningococcal Vaccine: This vaccine is mandatory for all Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, including adults and children aged two months and older. A single dose provides protection against meningitis and its complications for five years.
Those who have been vaccinated within the past five years and have valid proof of immunization do not need to repeat the dose until the five-year period has elapsed.
Seasonal Influenza Vaccine: Required for all Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, including adults and children aged six months and older. One dose is recommended annually to provide seasonal immunity and protect against flu-related complications.

The Ministry stressed the importance of receiving the vaccines at least ten days before traveling, to ensure adequate protection, prevent infection, and safeguard public health.
