MUSCAT : The agreements, concluded between January and September 2025, represent a total investment value of RO 100 million.

The projects, signed with various investors, are distributed across multiple governorates. In Muscat Governorate, four contracts were signed, including two luxury tourist camps in the Wilayat of Quriyat, a three-star resort, and an integrated tourism complex in Bausher. In Dhofar Governorate, two agreements were concluded — one for an existing tourist resort in Rakhyut and another for an integrated tourism complex.

Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, which ranked second after North Al Sharqiyah in terms of the number of projects, witnessed the signing of ten contracts. These cover a variety of establishments, including hotels ranging from one to five stars, a luxury camp in Jebel Shams, and a one-star hotel in Jebel Akhdar. South Al Batinah Governorate saw the signing of four contracts for hotels, resorts, and a luxury tourist camp, while Al Buraimi Governorate registered one contract for an integrated resort.

North Al Sharqiyah Governorate recorded the highest number of projects, with eleven contracts — primarily in the Wilayat of Bidiyah — covering luxury and standard tourist camps, three-star resorts and hotels, and a commercial tourism investment project in Ibra. In South Al Sharqiyah, three contracts were signed for projects in Sur and Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, including a resort and two luxury camps. Musandam Governorate witnessed the signing of one contract for an integrated tourism complex in Khasab.

The Ministry affirmed that these agreements form part of an ongoing investment programme designed to enhance the economic and social returns of tourism and create job opportunities for local communities. The initiative also emphasizes the empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and their integration into the value chain of the tourism sector.

This step aligns with the Ministry’s broader objectives to increase hotel capacity, raise service quality, and support sustainable tourism development, offering visitors integrated experiences that reflect Oman’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and diverse traditions.
