MUSCAT – The campaign stresses that infection prevention is a shared responsibility, involving healthcare workers, patients, and visitors alike.

With the message ‘Let’s build a shield against infection’, the Ministry aims to instil a culture of daily infection prevention to protect the most vulnerable members of society, especially children, the elderly, and low-income patients who may be more susceptible to illness.

The campaign highlights the effectiveness of basic preventive practices such as regular hand washing, maintaining hygiene, timely vaccination, and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
The Ministry also emphasised the growing need for vigilance in the face of evolving health threats, including antimicrobial-resistant microbes, which pose a significant risk to global health. By reinforcing safe practices now, the public can better respond to such challenges in the future.

The Ministry concluded with a reminder: “Daily commitment to infection prevention is not limited to outbreaks only, but must be practiced daily and become a part of our lives.”
