MUSCAT — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will arrive in Oman on Wednesday for a state visit at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, marking a new step in advancing the countries’ growing strategic partnership.
The visit builds on His Majesty’s Sultan Haitham’s landmark trip to Türkiye in November 2024, which produced several cooperation agreements and a $500 million joint investment fund. Officials said the latest talks will focus on expanding trade, investment, and defence ties, and on regional developments.
Omani Ambassador to Türkiye Saif bin Rashid Al Jahwari said relations, formally established in 1973, “are rooted in over three centuries of mutual respect.” Trade between the two nations reached RO 330 million ($860 million) in 2024, while Turkish investments in Oman rose 36% to RO 56 million.

Turkish Ambassador Muhammet Hekimoğlu called the Sultan’s 2024 visit “historic,” noting that Türkiye’s firms have delivered $6 billion worth of infrastructure projects in Oman. He praised Oman’s “balanced diplomacy” and role as a mediator in regional crises.
The two nations are also boosting cultural and educational exchanges, with plans for a Turkish school in Muscat and new student exchange programmes.
Oman Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sheikh Faisal Al Rowas said Erdoğan’s visit “marks a milestone” aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and Türkiye’s Century Vision, adding that both countries are preparing to host the “Türkiye-Oman Economic Forum” in December to drive further private-sector cooperation.
