MUSCAT : Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will embark on a historic visit to Oman from October 23 to 25, 2025, becoming the first Chief Minister from Kerala to visit the Sultanate in 26 years. The last visit was made by the late E.K. Nayanar in 1999.

The three-day visit, part of Vijayan’s wider Gulf tour covering Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar, highlights Kerala’s deep-rooted ties with the region and the state’s ongoing commitment to engage with its expatriate community one of the largest and most influential in the Gulf.

During his stay in Muscat, Vijayan will hold meetings with business leaders to explore opportunities for collaboration in investment, education, healthcare, and technology.

A key highlight of the visit will be his participation as Chief Guest at the Indian Community Festival, a major cultural and social gathering celebrating the shared friendship between Oman and India. The festival will bring together thousands of Indian expatriates in a vibrant display of unity, heritage, and community spirit.

Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office said the visit reflects Kerala’s gratitude toward its global diaspora and its commitment to fostering international partnerships.

Oman, home to over half a million Keralites, continues to play a vital role in the state’s economic and cultural fabric. Vijayan’s visit is expected to further deepen Kerala’s engagement with the Gulf region, paving the way for stronger cooperation and people-to-people connections.
