MUSCAT: A 15-year-old boy died from COVID-19 in the country earlier this week, a top Ministry of Health official informed.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs said the child did not have any prior illness. “Two days ago, a child under the age of 15 had died, and he did not have any other illnesses. There are also fatalities among people in their twenties and thirties,” Al Hosni said in an interview with Shabiba FM.

“People should avoid getting into situations that need them to be admitted to the ICU. Some people neglect wearing their masks, but wearing it would help mitigate the symptoms of the virus, if not prevent contracting it,” he added.

Oman’s total coronavirus cases has touched 89,746 including 780 deaths.
