Dutch Ambassador Maartje Peters to speak at HerStory Oman Summit 2025

Her Excellency Maartje Peters, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Netherlands to Oman, will join the prestigious HerStory Oman Summit & Awards 2025 as a panellist in the ‘Ambassador’s Forum: Shaping Change Beyond Borders’.

MUSCAT – A seasoned diplomat with nearly three decades of experience in foreign affairs and international development, Ambassador Peters brings deep insight into global security policy, cyber diplomacy, and human rights. She assumed her role in Oman in mid-2025 following her tenure as Head of the Digital and Hybrid Threat Division at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her distinguished career has also included roles in Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, and Cambodia, with international organisations such as UNIFEM and the ILO.

Her Excellency Peters holds a Master’s in International Development with a specialisation in gender and Dutch development policy from Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Her participation at HerStory underscores the summit’s commitment to showcasing voices that have championed change and resilience across borders.

The HerStory Oman Summit, hosted by The Arabian Stories (TAS), will take place in Muscat on October 15.
Themed ‘Leading the Charge’, the event will gather leading Omani women, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and changemakers to discuss leadership, innovation, financial empowerment, and social progress.
Among the other featured discussions are ‘Power of Women in Business’ and ‘Women in Leadership: Shaping Tomorrow’, as well as interactive sessions aimed at catalysing dialogue on women’s roles in shaping Oman’s future.
