DUQM : The victims of Wednesday’s fatal road accident in Duqm have been identified as Bangladeshi expatriate workers, confirmed Sirajul Haque, Chairman of the Bangladesh Social Club in Oman.
“Sadly, most of those who lost their lives were Bangladeshi nationals travelling to their work site in Duqm,” Haque said. “Their names are Amin Sawdagar, Arju, Mohd Roki, Mohammed Bablu, Mohd Sahabuddin, Jowel, and Roni — all from the Chattogram region of Bangladesh.”
The tragic collision occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday when a vehicle carrying the workers crashed into a large fishing container truck. Eight men died instantly, while the driver sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, Haque added.
