Temperature drops across Oman as heat eases

Al Mazyunah records the highest temperature at 38.5°C, as parts of the Sultanate experience a slight dip in daytime heat.

MUSCAT : Oman recorded a modest drop in temperatures over the past 24 hours, according to the Civil Aviation Authority’s Meteorology Department. The highest temperature was logged in Al Mazyunah at 38.5°C, followed by Muqshin (38.2°C) and Thumrait (38.1°C).

Other areas saw readings below 38°C — Al Sunainah and Hamra Al Drooa both reached 37.9°C, while Dima Wattayeen recorded 37.8°C. In the north, Fahud registered 37.5°C, with Al Buraimi and Ibri at 37.4°C.

Lower temperatures were observed in Wadi Al Maawil and Samail, each recording 36.5°C.

The report indicates that while conditions remain warm, temperatures have eased slightly compared to earlier in the week, offering a brief respite from the late-summer heat.
