Muscat – The Court found the three parties guilty of violating the Consumer Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 66/2014) for failing to provide services properly and in accordance with their nature.
The court imposed a total financial fine of RO 600 (RO 200 on each of the three convicted parties) and obligated them to pay the expenses of the criminal case.
The establishment, which specialised in curtains and furnishings, was taken to court after a consumer complained about a significant delay in completing work worth RO 6,805 and defects in the curtain measurements. The court referred the consumer’s civil compensation claims to the competent Civil Court for further adjudication.
The CPA affirmed its commitment to taking strict legal action against any violation of consumer rights.
