Labour Ministry licenses Sector Skills Unit for Oman’s tourism sector

The Ministry of Labour, represented by the Directorate General of Training, has licensed the Sector Skills Unit for the tourism sector as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance workforce readiness and align training with labour market needs.

MUSCAT – The unit, hosted by the Oman Tourism Association, aims to support the growth of the tourism industry in line with the National Strategy for Professional Standards and the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The unit will play a key role in monitoring tourism labour market needs, establishing professional standards, and implementing specialised training programmes designed to raise the efficiency and competitiveness of Omani professionals.


The licensing of the unit is expected to contribute to creating promising job opportunities for Omanis, improving the quality of visitor experience, and reinforcing Oman’s position as a competitive global tourist destination.


The Ministry of Labor emphasised that this step reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships with professional associations and the private sector, and to evolving the national training and qualification ecosystem to meet future demands.
