Oman celebrates Saudi National Day at Rub’ al-Khali border crossing

The Sultanate of Oman joined the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in celebrating the 95th Saudi National Day during a special event held at the Rub' al-Khali border crossing in Al Dhahirah Governorate, which links the two nations by land.

MUSCAT – The celebration was organised by the Secretariat General for National Celebrations, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), and featured a festive programme that reflected the depth of the historical and fraternal ties between the Sultanate and the Kingdom.

The ceremony began with musical performances by the Royal Oman Police Music Band, followed by a visual presentation showcasing the longstanding Omani-Saudi relations, as well as a national song, accompanied by a performance by the Al Ayyala Art Troupe, further enriched the event.
The programme also included vibrant contributions from the Saudi Folk Arts Troupe, a paragliding display, and a series of traditional performances such as Razfa and Al-Azi, highlighting the cultural heritage shared between the two countries.



His Excellency Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, emphasised the strategic importance of the Rub’ al-Khali border crossing, noting its role in enhancing cooperation, trade, investment, and social ties between the two nations.
He also highlighted preparations underway for facilitating import and export operations through the Al Dhahirah Economic Zone, currently under development near the border. His Excellency affirmed that the vision of both countries is moving toward greater integration, guided by the wisdom and leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

It’s worth noting that the celebration of Saudi National Day reflects the deep fraternal ties and bonds of love that bind the two countries and peoples, embodying their mutual cooperation in various fields.
The celebration was attended by a number of officials from both the Omani and Saudi sides.
