Muscat — His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued two Royal Decrees, the Diwan of Royal Court announced on Monday.
The first decree ordered a transfer and appointment in the diplomatic corps. Ambassador Ibrahim bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maaini, Oman’s envoy to the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The decree also appointed Ambassador Sayyid Yaarub bin Qahtan bin Nasser Al Busaidi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Oman to Iran.
The second decree ratified a protocol amending the agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Russian Federation on trade, economic and technical cooperation signed on April 22, 2025 in Moscow.

The decrees form part of Oman’s continuing efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and update bilateral frameworks of cooperation.
