MUSCAT – “However, the Moon will not completely obscure the solar disk; instead, it will cover only a portion of it, making the Sun appear as though part of it is missing or cut off,” the Society pointed out.
As per astronomical calculations, the Moon will obscure approximately 79.7 percent of the Sun’s disk at the peak of the eclipse. Unlike a total solar eclipse, this event will only partially block the Sun.
“This eclipse coincides with the conjunction of the crescent of Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH. It will be visible from parts of Australia, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, Antarctica, and nearby regions. However, it will not be visible from the Sultanate of Oman due to its geographical location and the timing of the event,” the Society explained
