Oman lifts import ban on birds and poultry products from India, Nepal, Turkey, Australia, and Puerto Rico

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, has issued Ministerial Resolution No. 227/2025, lifting the ban on the import of live birds, their products, derivatives, and offal from several regions.

MUSCAT : The decision, issued by the Minister His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Habsi, applies to the states of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka in the Republic of India; the Republic of Nepal, Konya Province and Kayseri Province in the Republic of Turkey; the state of Victoria in the Commonwealth of Australia, and the territory of Puerto Rico.

The resolution will come into effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.

This move follows recommendations by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) and official confirmations from veterinary authorities in the concerned regions, verifying that the causes of the initial ban have been resolved and all required animal health conditions have been met.
