Oman issues guidelines on use of ‘National Day’ in products and promotions

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has issued a reminder regarding the correct and lawful use of the term ‘National Day’ in products, events, and marketing materials during the upcoming National Day celebrations.

MUSCAT – The notice calls on enterprises and commercial establishments to ensure compliance with laws during National Day celebrations. It states: “In line with Royal Decree (15/2025) and in preparation for the National Day celebrations, all commercial products, events, activities and publications must use the term ‘National Day’.”
According to the Ministry, all businesses must ensure that any reference to the National Day in products, promotional content, or public events is in full compliance with the law. Use of the term ‘National Day’ is permitted; however, certain national symbols are strictly prohibited or require prior approval.
Prohibited Items:
• The Royal Emblem
• Images of Royal Palaces and Royal Mosques
Items Requiring Ministry Approval:
• Image of His Majesty the Sultan
• State Emblem
• National Flag
• Map of the Sultanate of Oman (Subject to approval from the National Survey Authority)
The Ministry stressed that any unauthorised use of these protected elements may result in legal action against the offending business or entity.
