MUSCAT: Oman has won an honorary award and fifth spot in the 20th Biennial of Nature Photography in Russia.
Omani photographer Hassan Al Ghailani won the gold medal in the individual level for his stunning picture of Al Alalam Tree.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth said: “The Sultanate, represented by the Omani Society of Photography, won the honorary award and the fifth place in the 20 Biennial of Nature Photography for Printed Pictures in Russia, with a total of 155 points, which is held by the International Federation of Photographic Art every two years at the level of its member states.”

The other photographers who took part in the competition are: Ayman Al Balushi, Shazan Al Siyabi, Abd Al Rahman Al Hinai, Abdul Rahman Al Aghbry, and Abdullah Al Hadrami, Haitham Al Shanfari, Anas Al-Deeb, Muhammad Al Zadjali, and Qassem Al Farsi.
