DOHA : His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and expressed Oman’s deep appreciation for Qatar’s efforts in hosting the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha.
Delivering Oman’s address at the summit, His Highness said the “treacherous attack” on Qatar underscored the grave challenges facing the region, pointing to the widening war waged by Israel “heedless of international law, international legitimacy, or the sanctity of innocent blood.”
He stressed that targeting Qatar, a state known for its mediation and peace-building efforts in Palestine, only undermines the collective pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

“Oman condemns this heinous attack in the strongest terms and affirms its full solidarity with the State of Qatar, its leadership, government, and people. Qatar’s security is integral to the security of the entire Gulf and the Arab and Islamic nation,” His Highness affirmed.
His Highness further underlined that condemnation alone is insufficient, urging Arab and Islamic states to take “practical and tangible steps,” particularly on the legal and diplomatic fronts. “We must act within the United Nations, the Security Council, and the General Assembly, and we must employ the tools of international law to hold Israel accountable for its crimes and violations. We must work together to stop this dangerous path that threatens the entirety of international peace,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of collective resolve, stating: “Our meeting today is held to affirm that our Arab and Islamic nation is capable of facing challenges if its word is united. And we are certain that unity of ranks is the optimal path to safeguard the future of our peoples and protect our homelands.”
His Highness warned that silence by the international community “fuels impunity and encourages further aggression,” calling on the summit to mark the beginning of “serious and unified action” that translates solidarity into effective pressure to end the occupation, halt aggressions, and uphold international legitimacy.
