MUSCAT : The Public Services Regulatory Authority (APSR) has confirmed that there is no connection between the fire at Ghala Industrial Area and Monday’s sudden power outage that affected several governorates across Oman.

Speaking to Al Wisal in an interview, Engineer Hilal Al-Ghaithi, spokesperson for APSR clarified that the outage was caused when one of the power generation stations went unexpectedly offline, which led to fluctuations in the national electricity network. The disruption triggered a temporary supply cut in multiple regions before restoration teams managed to stabilize the grid.

The Authority emphasized that the Ghala Industrial fire was a separate incident and had no impact on the electricity network. APSR assured the public that all relevant agencies are monitoring the situation closely and reiterated that the power supply across the Sultanate has since been fully restored.
