MUSCAT: A man has allegedly been caught travelling at more than 200km/h in Muscat Governorate, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
The driver has been arrested after a video circulated on social media went viral. According to ROP, he has been charged with recklessness and speeding beyond the restricted limit.
The driver has been referred to the prosecution, while the car he was driving was impounded, ROP said.

“The Muscat Governorate Police Command arrested a vehicle driver on charges of recklessness and speeding. He was found to be speeding by more than 220 kilometres per hour after a video clip was circulated on social media. The rest of the legal procedures were completed against him,” ROP said in a statement.
ROP urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and warned that speeding can lead to serious consequences.
