MUSCAT: Implemented by Muscat Municipality, the project aims to enhance public recreational facilities and strengthen Bandar Al Khairan’s appeal as a tourism destination while preserving the area’s natural environment.
Eng. Khalfan bin Khalifa Al Busaidi, Director General of Muscat Municipality, said the walkway would include three viewing points, eight shaded areas, designated seating and rest areas, and a dedicated cycling path.
The project also includes landscaping and lighting designed to complement the site’s environmental characteristics.
Al Busaidi said environmental considerations had been incorporated into the project’s design and implementation because of its location within a nature reserve. The development aims to minimise potential impacts on the surrounding environment while providing facilities for outdoor recreation and physical activity.
Once completed, the walkway is expected to offer residents and visitors improved access to recreational amenities and scenic views of Bandar Al Khairan, supporting tourism development in Muscat Governorate.
