MUSCAT – This new addition complements the existing tracks in finance, accounting, and cybersecurity, reflecting OIA’s commitment to developing the skills of national talent and preparing them for the labour market.
Targeted at law graduates and legal professionals, the track focuses on honing both practical and theoretical legal skills. Participants will have the opportunity to obtain international professional bar qualification certificate, accredited by the British Solicitors Regulation Authority. The certification process involves two sets of tests assessing practical legal knowledge, alongside oral and written examinations.
The certification aims to elevate the performance and expertise of legal graduates and employees, enriching Oman’s workforce with highly qualified professionals. This initiative supports the development of a sustainable talent pool with specialised skills, strengthening the country’s investment and legal sectors.
Fahmi bin Zaher Al Mazroui, Acting Head of Human Resources and Change at OIA, emphasised that the new track aligns with the Authority’s strategic goals to build national capabilities in sectors directly linked to economic development, particularly in the legal sector, which is a fundamental pillar of the business and investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman. He pointed out that the Authority is committed to supporting national initiatives aimed at developing Omani competencies, honing their skills, and preparing them for the labour market.

Since its inception in 2023, the ‘Mu’tamad’ program has successfully enrolled approximately 75 candidates pursuing certifications such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), and specialised cybersecurity qualifications.
To be eligible for the legal track, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in law with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 for graduates from 2023, 2024, or 2025. For those without a degree, practical experience of no more than three years is required.
Registration for the legal track is open until September 29, 2025, after which qualifying candidates will proceed to the written tests and personal interviews, which they must successfully pass to be eligible to join the programme.
