MUSCAT – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has announced key performance indicators for the charter aviation sector during the 2024-2025 tourism season, highlighting significant growth in passenger numbers, flight operations, and economic impact.
According to the Ministry, the sector welcomed 93,000 passengers from targeted international markets, a 26 percent increase compared to the 2023-2024 season.
The charter sector also delivered economic returns of $80 million, stemming from accommodation, transportation, and sightseeing activities, excluding revenue from airport landing, layover, and refuelling services.

A total of 588 charter flights operated during the 2024/2025 season, up from 466 flights in the previous season, marking a significant rise in connectivity and demand.
The report also provides a breakdown of passenger figures by nationality, indicating the strong appeal of Oman in Eastern and Central European markets. The top contributors were:
• Poland: 31,800 passengers
• Czech Republic: 19,126 passengers
• Italy: 14,497 passengers
• Slovakia: 10,800 passengers
• Hungary: 8,100 passengers
• Romania: 5,323 passengers
• Uzbekistan: 1,930 passengers
• Belarus: 1,500 passengers
• Armenia: 530 passengers
• Bulgaria: 207 passengers
The Ministry noted rising demand in existing markets and the addition of new charter routes from Belarus and Uzbekistan. It also highlighted ongoing efforts to attract promising new markets, including Spain and Russia, to further boost inbound tourism.
