MUSCAT — Hundreds of residents thronged Al Khuwair Square on Sunday night to witness the rare total lunar eclipse, which transformed the moon into a dramatic display of shadow and light.
Families, astronomy enthusiasts, and photographers gathered well before the peak of the eclipse, turning the square into a lively hub of excitement. As the moon moved deeper into the Earth’s shadow, many watched in awe, waiting for the moment it would glow in deep red — the spectacular phase known as the Blood Moon.
The event drew people of all ages, with many capturing the moment on smartphones and cameras, while others simply gazed skyward, soaking in the atmosphere. The rare celestial phenomenon united the community in a shared sense of wonder, making Al Khuwair Square one of the most popular viewing spots in Muscat for the eclipse.
