Muscat: Over 850,000 students will return to classrooms across Oman on Sunday as the new 2025/2026 academic year begins, with the Ministry of Education unveiling major investments in digital learning infrastructure to enhance teaching quality and student engagement.
His Excellency Majid bin Saeed Al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, said the ministry has provided 600 mobile laboratories to cycle-one schools, giving students greater opportunities for hands-on science and technology learning.
To further integrate technology into education, the ministry has expanded its rollout of interactive screens, including:
• 1,619 screens in cycle one,
• 1,753 screens in cycle two, and
• 2,122 screens in cycle three.

Al Bahri stressed that these measures are part of the ministry’s commitment to creating a modern, innovative education environment aligned with Oman Vision 2040, aimed at preparing students for a knowledge-based society and a competitive future workforce.
“The combination of mobile labs and interactive classrooms will make learning more engaging, practical, and impactful,” he said, noting that the initiatives coincide with the reopening of schools for 1,303 educational institutions nationwide.
