Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi joined top diplomats in issuing the strongly worded statement denouncing Netanyahu’s reported statements as a “dangerous violation” of international norms and a direct threat to Arab national security.
The ministers also condemned Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s approval of new settlement plans in the E1 area and his public rejection of a Palestinian state. These actions, they declared, blatantly violate international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
The statement reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 and slammed the expansionist policies as an obstacle to peace. The ministers emphasized their support for the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The group also called for immediate international intervention to halt what they described as crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and starvation in Gaza. They demanded an unconditional ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access, and the lifting of Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip. Israel, they stated, must be held fully responsible for the collapse of Gaza’s health and relief systems.
Rejecting all forms of forced displacement, the joint statement urged global powers, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council and the United States, to act swiftly and decisively to compel Israel to halt its aggression in Gaza and the West Bank.
The ministers called for the Palestinian Authority to assume full governance responsibilities in Gaza, under the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, with international and Arab support. They reaffirmed the unity of Palestinian territory and the need for one legitimate authority, one law, and one national defense under the State of Palestine.
The statement closed with a stark warning against the reliance on “ideological and racist illusions,” which they said would only deepen the conflict and endanger regional and international security.
