MUSCAT : Nama Distribution Company stated that operational results reflect its commitment to developing electricity networks to meet growing energy demand. The company noted that “some supervised projects have exceeded planned targets in certain areas, while others face logistical challenges, which are expected to be resolved in line with the company’s strategic plans.”
The company reported that the construction of the Southern Al-Sha’abiya electrical substation in the Wilayat of Al Musanaa has achieved 100 percent completion, surpassing the scheduled target. Meanwhile, in the Wilayat of Wadi Al-Ma’awil, the substation project reached 45 percent completion against a target of 65 percent.
In Nakhal, the Khazain substation project achieved 53 percent completion compared to a 62 percent target. In A’Rustaq, the rehabilitation project of 33kV and 11kV electricity networks in wadis areas recorded 90 percent completion against a 98 percent target. The company attributed delays in some projects to the complexity of work within residential neighbourhoods.
The seventh index report indicated that electrical extension projects across the governorate achieved 50 percent completion against a 54 percent target, marking steady progress in meeting rising energy demands in South Al Batinah’s wilayats.
These projects represent a crucial step towards strengthening the governorate’s electrical infrastructure, supporting urban and economic expansion, and ensuring reliable, sustainable power supply in the coming years.
