Gold prices decline as dollar strengthens, investors await Federal Reserve Appointments

Gold prices dipped slightly today as the U.S. dollar saw a modest rise, with investors refraining from making significant moves ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s expected decision on two appointments to the Federal Reserve Board.

SINGAPORE – Spot gold fell 0.1 percent to $3,376.01 an ounce, after hitting its highest level in nearly two weeks on Tuesday. US gold futures fell 0.1 percent to $3,431.10.

As for other precious metals, spot silver settled at $37.82 per ounce, platinum fell 0.5 percent to $1,313.94, and palladium fell 1 percent to $1,164.15.
