MUSCAT – The Public Prosecution has issued a stern reminder to citizens and residents that discarding waste, including any kind of litter, onto roads or public spaces is a criminal offence.
According to Article 93 of the Penal Code, violators face penalties that include up to three months of imprisonment, a fine of RO 300, or one of the two penalties.
This initiative aims to uphold public cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Authorities stress that such behaviour not only damages the environment but also undermines public order and safety.
