MUSCAT – According to a statement from the CPA, the seizure took place during a routine inspection visit by judicial enforcement officers, who discovered large quantities of used tires at a commercial outlet and its affiliated warehouse.

Many of the tires showed clear signs of wear, with the majority having already expired. A limited number of tires were found to be nearing expiration, with less than six months of safe use remaining.

Authorities issued a formal violation report in accordance with established regulations which prohibit the trade of used tires due to the serious safety risks they pose.

The CPA stressed the importance of adhering to regulations governing tire sales, citing the direct impact such products have on consumer safety and road security. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continued market monitoring and taking legal action against violators.
