MUSCAT – The repairs are part of the Ministry’s project to address damage caused by recent monsoon weather conditions in the governorates of South Al Batinah and North Al Batinah.
This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the road network and enhance infrastructure.
Mahmoud bin Khalfan Al Wahaibi, a civil engineer at the Ministry, explained that the project includes repairing damaged asphalt layers and constructing several underpasses to ease traffic flow.
One of the key components is the underpass currently under construction in the Al Mulda area in the Wilayat of Al Musannah. Once operational, it is expected to significantly improve traffic movement between both sides of Sultan Qaboos Road, boost local economic activity, and reduce the impact of future weather events.

He also pointed out that the total cost of this project amounted to RO 23.6 million, with the majority of work now completed.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation to ensure the safety of road users and to enhance the overall efficiency and durability of national infrastructure.
