New York: As the conference continues until July 30, Oman joins world leaders and diplomats in urgent discussions focused on charting a path toward peace in the region. The event comes at a critical moment, with UN Secretary-General António Guterres warning that the two-state solution is “farther than ever before” and teetering on the brink of collapse.
Guterres condemned both the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and the ongoing devastation in Gaza, describing the humanitarian toll as “obliteration” marked by mass civilian casualties, starvation, and the destruction of vital infrastructure.

Calling for global responsibility, Guterres urged the international community to treat the conference as a potential turning point. He emphasized that a two-state solution, grounded in international law, remains the only viable route to a lasting peace.
