MUSCAT : The centre aims to regulate and facilitate the recruitment of workers to Oman in accordance with approved employment contracts under the Omani Labour Law.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Mahad bin Saeed bin Ali Baowain, Minister of Labour. The launch marks a significant outcome of the Oman-Philippines Investment Forum held earlier this month in Cebu City.

The new centre offers a comprehensive, one-stop service for prospective workers, including biometric fingerprint registration, medical examinations, document and contract attestation, and other value-added services. It is designed to enhance administrative efficiency, protect the rights of both workers and employers, and reduce dependency on informal intermediaries. It also enables employers to verify skills and qualifications to ensure they match job requirements.
In addition to core recruitment services, the centre also facilitates pre-departure preparations, such as issuing mobile phone numbers and opening bank accounts in Oman. It houses an information hub to handle inquiries and provides awareness sessions on workers’ rights and responsibilities under Omani law.
The centre thus helps match labour supply with market demand more effectively while promoting transparency and safety in the recruitment process.
During their visit, the Omani delegation also held bilateral talks with the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to protecting workers, promoting ethical employment practices, and ensuring the success of this bilateral initiative.
The Manila centre is the first in a planned network of similar facilities that Oman aims to establish in major labour-exporting countries. These centres form part of a broader strategy to enhance labour mobility frameworks and protect the rights of workers and employers, in alignment with Omani labour law.
This initiative embodies the Sultanate of Oman’s government’s firm commitment to ensuring the provision of high-quality and safe services to citizens and residents, achieving business sustainability, and promoting professional employment practices.
The event was also attended by His Excellency Engineer Nasser bin Said Al Munawari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines, along with senior officials from both nations.
