MUSCAT – Among the most prominent initiatives are the Jabal Akhdar Park project in Saih Qatna, currently nearing completion, and the newly inaugurated Celebration Square, which opened with the launch of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival 2025.
His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Mansour Al Ghufaili, Wali of Jabal Al Akhdar, stated that the Wilayat is witnessing a wave of development aligned with Oman Vision 2040, aimed at transforming its natural and cultural assets into sustainable economic and social opportunities.

He confirmed that the Park is over 85 percent complete and is expected to open to the public in August, with a total investment exceeding RO 1.1 million. Spanning 20,000 square meters, the park will feature a 1,000 m² children’s play area; dedicated sports tracks; commercial zones with a café, retail shop, and electric games; prayer facilities, restrooms, and a multi-use open-air theatre; and over 5,000 m² of landscaped green spaces, featuring 150 trees and 400 shrubs.
The park is envisioned as a year-round entertainment destination, offering integrated recreational and service facilities that cater to residents and tourists alike.
His Excellency emphasised that these projects will enhance the Wilayat’s tourism landscape, providing community platforms for hosting national events, and playing a role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and creating job opportunities.
