This surge in global demand is a testament to the company’s robust technical and operational capabilities.
Positioned in the Duqm Special Economic Zone, the drydock continues to play a vital role in boosting the local economy. It attracts high-profile marine maintenance and repair projects, generates job opportunities, and enhances Duqm’s status as a regional maritime hub.
Demonstrating strong support for local businesses, ASYAD Drydock awarded RO 8.4 million in contracts to SMEs and RO 11.1 million to local companies—accounting for 82% of total contracts in the past year. The company spent approximately RO 14 million on local imports, RO 5.8 million on services, and RO 2.3 million on Omani-made goods. Moreover, through its supplier development program, over RO 414,000 in purchases were shifted from international to local suppliers, strengthening the national supply chain.

In 2024, the company also focused on innovation and sustainability. It received American Bureau of Shipping certification for megaship propeller blade repairs, introduced eco-friendly painting technologies, and deployed robotic systems for ship hull cleaning.
Revenues for the first half of 2024 saw a 15% year-on-year increase, driven by operational efficiency and financial growth. Looking ahead, the company is pursuing expansion through digital transformation, talent development, and new international partnerships.
ASYAD Drydock is also diversifying its portfolio by entering the oil and gas sector with services for offshore platforms. With an eye on expanding into markets like Africa, Japan, and the US, the company aims to attract more global clients.
